I'm still looking for a job, though I did find a temp/ freelance job that kept me busy/ paid for most of March. It was with a design agency that needed help catching up on some work, but isn't quite busy enough to hire a new person full time. Things have gotten worse for my dad. They had thought the cancer hadn't spread, and that they'd be able to remove it with surgery. But at his appointment yesterday, they found that it has spread, and it's too late for surgery to help. They say he's probably got another 3-6 months.

I got some bad news tonight. A few days ago I talked to my dad, and he said he hadn't been feeling well for the past few weeks or so, and he'd been to the doctor, and had some tests done. They'd done a CT scan, and found something in his pancreas. On Friday they did a biopsy to find out what it was, and we were waiting to get the results sometime ( Read more... )

I'm pretty much over having my wisdom teeth pulled now. If I poke around the area with my tongue, I can still feel holes there, but the pain is gone. The only thing I'm still avoiding eating is popcorn, I wouldn't want to get a hull stuck in there, since it wouldn't soften the way most food would. I had my upper wisdom teeth pulled today. Now I'm all groggy from meds, and a bit sore. I hope it won't take too long to get back to normal. The upper ones came out easier than the bottom ones did a couple years ago, so hopefully they'll heal quicker too. I stocked up on soft/ mushy foods, and said I was taking Monday off work. I got a call from my dad today, with bad news, that my grandpa died. He was 99 and died in his sleep, so I guess at least that's about the best way to go someone could have. He was healthy and independent, hadn't even totally retired from farming until four years ago, when he had a bad stroke. It left him pretty incapacitated, and unable to speak ( Read more... )

I thought it was time to post an up to date version of this, since I've added a few to the list. This year I've visited Georgia, Montana, and Idaho for the first time. This brings me up to 23, almost halfway to visiting all 50. I guess this map makes it look like a lot because it's mostly been bigger states, and I've never been to New England. ( Read more... )
