OMG, please. Ike hysteria is bad enough

A 10 year old boy was killed this morning when a branch from a tree his parents were cutting down fell on him. Because it's believed the parents were removing the tree in preparation for the storm, at least one news site is calling the boy Ike's first casualty.

Yes, it is sad under any circumstances. I'm just annoyed at how the news is playing into the storm hype by calling him a casualty instead of an accidental death.

That's so sad but to blame Ike is crazy! The parent's shouldn't have let the 10 year old boy around a tree they were cutting down. Just my opinion!

Did you have to evacuate?

Nope. We live on the far west side of Houston and were told NOT to evacuate so that people who really needed to didn't have to compete on the roads. I'll be writing up a post with our details, but summary is we're all fine and so is our property. :D
