Feb 20, 2009 18:10

"That damn dog is back," my boyfriend muttered.

Barely more than a puppy, the bone-thin little mutt had snuck onto the porch and was eating from my dog's bowl again. Jake opened the back door and stomped his big black boot to make him run.

This was the second time in a week that I had watched the pup slink up the back stairs, glancing rapidly ( Read more... )

This was such a sweet story!

Do you still live in Greensboro? That's actually where I grew up - what side of town?

Greensboro, GA? Really? Awesome! It is like the teeniest little map dot! What a freaky coincidence. Have you been back there in a while? The south side of I-20 by the lake has seen SO much development - it's all ritzy now :)

I don't live there anymore. After that boyfriend and I broke up, I sold the house and moved a litle further south in 2002...and now I live in the northern part of the state!

(Thank you for the compliment too!)

Okay, I totally didn't realize there was a Greensboro, GA. I grew up in Greensboro, NC. Heh.

But I also used to live in Augusta, GA!

I'd thought she meant NC too, until I remembered her saying something about Georgia. And I thought "well it's small, but I don't think it's that small!" lol

My Blues rescued a dog from abusers once. Me, only from the pound. This is a wonderful story.

Thank you, Miss S!

After writing this, I wondered...does this story make me sound crazy? It just killed me how they had treated that poor dog!!
I talked to the vet after calling the police and he said he saw that kind of thing a lot, where some redneck mistreats a dog, but then when someone else take an interest they go ballistic because it is their property.

He was like "Do NOT let them get him back again."

I don't think it makes you sound crazy at all.

Thank you.

I can get pretty passionate about things, then later wonder...was that really a good idea? It generally doesn't stop me from getting wrapped up in something else though.

So, I'm skimming down my friend list and see the word "panting." Then I see your icon. Obviously, I knew the entry would be must read. And I was correct about that...even though I was expecting something totally different.

This is a precious story. I'm so glad you were there to get involved. You remind me of my friend Steve - and there really is no higher compliment I can give you!

Great entry. And good riddance to anyone who things you weren't in the right.
