So, last couple of days in Berlin were fun, involving much wandering around and little actual doing of things. I found a wonderful flea market on Unter den Linden, the major street running through the middle of town (it goes through the Brandenburger Tor and past the Reichstag and stuff). So the last two days have been very satisfying. I've learned that my hostel lies in a part of town that was a haven for counter-culture, student, and artist types during the Communist regime, which explains the look of the area, and apparently it's cleaned up a lot recently, so I feel a lot safer here. Well, life in Holland has continued. Since my last update, we have travelled from Groningen, in northern Netherlands, to the Hague, a major multicultural city in Holland, and now to Amsterdam. So I am now two days into my psychology program's Long Study Tour, wherein we take a week to travel around the Netherlands. At the moment we are in the city of Groningen, which is old, reasonably sized, and a ton of fun. Yesterday we visited a school for children whose parents are seeking asylum here in the Netherlands, and had an absolute blast. ( Read more... )

I hate being sick. I also hate forgetting to do simple things like laundry, because I was taking care of other things that needed to be done. I have this bad tendency to do, like, 3/4s of my chores and think that I'm done with everything. Then I find out later that I forgot to do something, and feel really dumb. Oh well ( Read more... )
