Hmm... well are you okay with downloading a trial version? I think Photoshop or Photoshop Elements is pretty essential for the tricky erasing (ie when text is written over pictures as opposed to being in a white bubble). Also, what do you think of the idea of me creating a tutorial and posting it on my LJ so you can learn?
