Surge was dying for a bite to eat, and he wasn't about ready to just order his food and wait there. Surge was never too impatient, but he wasn't one to wait so quietly at times. He would compromise by just munching on this delicious bread in front of him.
Oh, but what was this? This bread was looking a bit too crisp; burnt and blackened. This seemed strange, the soldier realized, his expression markedly puzzled. He tentatively reached a gloved hand out, about to lift a piece of the bread. That was when he was able to notice the smoke.
That was something very abnormal if he'd ever seen it.
"What in the-" He began to mutter. Deciding to be a bit daring, yet ever as cautious as usual, he began to gently lift up a very certain piece of bread by the tip.
He was not ready to expect what he may just wind up seeing.
This was a bit of an interesting turnabout. There was a Pichu, none other than his favorite species of Pokemon's de-evolved form, just lying there in the bread, cheeks alight. Surge was quick to throw a grin on his face. If there was any baby Pokemon he truly liked, it was a Pichu, and to think one would worm its way into a basket of bread! This was something he hadn't expected in the slightest. I mean... finding a Pichu in a bread basket. That didn't happen to him that often, obviously
