I love this. LOVE. I just watched Atonement and I was devastated -- I mean, the film was so beautiful (especially James ;-) but the tragedy of it haunted me for days.

But I love this story, angsty as it is. You've done a beautiful, poetic job recreating this AU.

I've both read the book and watched the movie. Atonement is definetely an interesting story, but I don't know, it's always left me somewhat dissatisfied. No one in that book got what they deserved, what was owed to them, especially not Cecilia and Robbie. *sigh*

Thank you so much <3

Exactly -- I felt that had the, er, "villainess" gotten her comeuppance, or really managed to atone for what she did, I might have felt that some sort of justice had occurred, if Cecilia and Robbie had to suffer so. It just ended on such a hopeless note. There was no catharsis. So I far prefer your version :-)

Heh okay, I think I love just about everything you write, even if it's as angsty as this. I guess because I hope they won't die at the end. :D

Anyway, I felt so, so sorry for Charles while he thought Erik hated him, and so sorry for Erik after he was taken into custody. I love how you changed the plot to fit the two of them.

Please never stop writing. :D

lol I write wayyy too much, I know. I'll take a break after Brief Lives is over, promise.

Ehhh, I hope to one day be a writer, so you can count on the fact I'll never stop writing, for sure =)
