So this particular part of the house saga is epic, as contracts are concerned. We were bummed about losing the other house last Thursday. Were pouting on Saturday night when we came across this listing for a house...a single family home in our price range. No pictures (brand new listing), but the description was nice. Nope, no go on the 3rd house we've had our eye on. The first 2 never even got to contract because they were snatched up too quickly. This last one, we submitted a contract, did all the research. Its an anxious evening. I've been in bed for an hour, tossing and turning. I really hesitate to say anything because when a decision is looming, it always seems like posting about it in LJ is the kiss of death! So I won't. Not a word. *snort* I'll just sit here and lament over my current state of sleepless anxiety... ... ..... .. . .

Bummer. No go on the house. As we had expected, the convoluted nature of the short sell makes it nearly impossible. We were wondering why that beautiful house had been on the market over a year. Saw a few houses today. Mostly crap but one that might just turn into an offer! I don't want to get too excited about it because its a short sale (basically, bank is trying to sell it BEFORE it goes into foreclosure). ... how can anyone afford a house these days! I mean, not as much the monthly payments as the DOWN payments and the closing costs!!! We're looking at estimates. If we don't roll closing costs and some of these other expenses into the mortgage (thus negating any deal we get on a house), we'll have to find another $18,000.
