It was the presence of humans in the barracks; their minds became a constant background noise that made her tired and tense. Her body pushed past long branches and her feet avoided getting trapped by twisted roots. The jungles of Aiur had plenty of places to hide, but both hunter and prey could remain hidden. River could be still, listening and sensing, and locating the Protoss became like a game of hide and seek. She had always been good at that.
