The Shopping Spree Begins

Jan 26, 2008 23:50

Moonette heard the door to her beach house creak open and then click closed. Was it six o’clock already? She glanced at the clock, then quickly took her arm and swept the several miniature silver credit cards off of her desk top and into the top drawer before....

I'll like to say how much I've enjoyed this story. Most original and inventive!

I had to giggle over the rose and its roots. Twenty nine little socks! lol

Hazel found Marett’s fascinating. The unparalleled variety of timber on offer was a bit mid-boggling. It was no surprise that Marcus had fallen completely silent as he browsed. Only the flush high on his cheekbones gave away his excitement and then only because she knew him inside out ( ... )

And now I must away and attend to the roast lamb for dinner.

I know you're having a wonderful day, Berte! I hope you have as much delight reading this as I had writing it. :D

::huge birthday hugs::

Oh, I've been having a blast! Still am, actually. :)

Protecting Hulder-wildwood is definitely a good idea. Especially as the muggles are getting way to greedy and want to use us to get hold of Grandfather's gold. ::snorts:: As if they'd ever manage that. ::rolls eyes:: Still, it is a nuisance. (Ever seen or read Peer Gynt, by Ibsen? The green clad woman is a hulder). So thank you, that was a wonderfully thoughtful gift.

And now I must definitely stop by Marett's myself. Imagine the carving wood to be found...

:::3xkisses on the cheek::: (we are in France, after all) You are wonderful, you know. This is so cool, I feel it all the way down to my toes. ::wiggles toes::

Marett's is actually based on a timber yard I visited several times. Yandles of Martock

They have quite a reputation in the woodworking world. :) Not that I ever found the wizarding wood selections! lol

Gabriella looked around her house fretfully and fingered the dragonhide leather wallet doubtfully. "Is everything all right here? Are you sure you and Rafe can spare me for a few hours ( ... )

They skipped the money exchange. Gabriella had learned from travelling the world by ship with her family to always have a personal stash of various exchanges. She walked purposely down the lane, looking out for friends and inspiration at the different shops, and hoping she remembered enough French to placate the shop keepers into using the fluent English she knew each of them had. One only had to make an effort.

"There's a dress shop." Richard pointed.

"Madame Batiste's," Gabriella identified it with a snort. "She's a hack, I can't believe she's still popular here."

Richard's eyebrows shot up. "There's a story there."

"I tried apprenticing her when I was just starting out. We parted ways after a conflict over whether customer service and quality was more important than the bottom line."

"I know which side you were on in that argument."

"You had better," Gabriella said mock-threateningly. "Anyway, if I wanted to give amamama dress-robes, I'd make them myself ( ... )

Gabby, you are the sweetest. I immediately followed your links, and ... *le sigh* The Carribean one had couples' spa (double the fun, I guess), where a chocolate body-pack is included. Do they then leave you after applying it so you can lick the chocolate of your partner? Sounds tempting. *grins*

I'm having so much fun, and thoroughly enjoy reading this. It really is one of the coolest birthdays I've ever had. Never imagined anyone would do this for me. *twirls* Richard smelling a stolen daydream is just great, he is true to himself, Sera looking after Rafe, Richard being a bit on the edge over Sirius... Ahhh. *big grin* I. Loved. It. All. And then my gift - is that something I can add to my bath tonight?

Much love, I'm trés chuffed. *kiss, kiss, kiss*

PS - hope your leg gets better soon! (Ever tried relaxing and 'meeting' your pain? Listening to it, and see if it has something to tell you? It can be most enlightening, even though the messages are not always what you want to hear. I should know... *wry grin*).

The Chines Fireball (continued from Girlyswot) tdu000 January 27 2008, 20:21:44 UTC
TDU was enjoying loking at all the beautiful fabrics. Every now and again she would lurch over to roll and stroke it lovingly. However, none of the fabrics were really singing to her, possibly her natural Yorkshire "caution" with money made her feel a little queasey whenever she looked at the price tag. A select few actually didn't even have price tags and queasey wasn't an adequate enough term to describe how she felt about them ( ... )
