Ellie, talented creative force that she is, recently gave me a mixed CD revolving around a character on a show I've never seen. It's a damn good mix; so good, I've been considering adding the show to my Tivo's list and attempting to catch up. I heard that in France a couple can be married in a church, but they must also have a civil ceremony for the marriage to be recognized by the government. Why can't we have that here, and then ALL marriages recognized by the gov't would be "civil unions"? Because if civil unions are good enough for gay people, why aren't they good enough for straight people? *ponders*
