i looove lit theory because of ms. ogunyemi anonymous June 24 2005, 03:48:54 UTC
Hey, I took a class with Ms. Ogunyemi (so AMAZING, utterly AMAZING) and it was very literary-theory heavy- we also had great, great seminars. You have to use three different forms of theory for each paper you write. She kicks your ass, but seriously I have really grown to love literary theory, and I never thought I was the type. I realized I never even knew how to properly right a paper until I had her, and I've been writing my whole life. My love of literary theory (for real!) got so bad that I was checking out books of black feminist lit theory over winter break just for the sheer joy of reading them. If you get a chance take her! You read these amazing books by Gloria Naylor and Toni Morrison and Alice Walker, and there's a lot of freedom in conference work. Anyway, have a happy summer! ~Becky~ p.s. my blog is www.xanga.com/femmeinred :) if you are bored

Oh yeah, I definitely want to interview her next year. (I realized when I said all of SLC was anti-theory I was overlooking some people. Mostly it is just that I have been so steeped in Ilja Wachs that I think of him as embodying the whole school.)
