Ahahhaaha! I forgot that conversation was in the middle of the ball! Even after a very large whatever it was (Whomping Willow, possibly? Except I made the bartender swap out the vodka for tequila...) my brain never does shut off.

And I love all the digressions into theater history. Can't even call them digressions: they're part of the fabric of your experience of both present and past.

I have a degree in theatre, too (and have been performing in Shakespeare since I was 8), and I did my undergraduate thesis on breeches roles. I played Hamlet and Cyrano for my independent acting project. So cross-gender casting has always been a topic near and dear to my heart.

(At some point I really want to play Cervantes / Quixote in Man of La Mancha, sigh....)

Anyway, YES to Gay in YA. I am looking forward to being able to hear the audio because, yeah, staff. I got to...my programming and basically nothing else.

(Glad you caught a little of Wands! As always, I wish we'd had a little more rehearsal but overall I'm quite happy with the mix and how everything came out.)

I am not sure when I'll get back to Orlando but yeah, I definitely have to ask for a Castle Tour instead of riding the ride next time! We have been guilty before of letting people go ahead of us while we linger over the details. I'll have to point out to Amy, since she'll be back for work soonish, that she should look in the windows of the shops.

Ouch, your icon! (Now I want it. Damn.)

I forgot to say that you blasted down the house! You were stripping paint off the back wall, and I mean that in a good way. That's the way I describe Dolora Zajick.

Over at the Hog's Head, there was a retrospective of what you were doing when HP7 came out, whether you were still involved in fandom (yeah), and what has changed you. I think HP has had a very big affect on openness and acceptance, especially where gender and sexuality issues are concerned. I couldn't prove it, of course, but I think it's an element to the way that GBLT issues are coming up in YA lit.

The shop windows and the atmosphere are some of the best things. This time, at the park event, I even heard a little old wizard complaining about people leaving papers around at the Owl Post.

I want to thank you personally for having given us the gift of HPEF all these years. It's been an amazing trip.
