There's a series I've started and the first book is Dies the Fire. I of course can't remember the author but it's really cool. Not much supernatural except all of the sudden almost all technology stops working and it follows a few groups of people as they adapt.

Coolest part, most of it takes place in the Willamette valley

Amusingly enough I have the first four books in that series. The author is S.M. Stirling
