Poor Sammy. I gotta say though, despite all this, he seems to me like the most well-adjusted person in the history of ever.
This is reminding me of when I started a re-watch marathon with my dad who hasn't seen it before and the whole time I couldn't stop thinking about the early season characters, "oh they have NO idea what's coming, ahhhhhhh!" It's kinda like Episode III of Star Wars where you're like DON'T DO IT, ANAKIN, but you know he will cause you've already seen the ending. It's sorta gut-wrenching, haha.
I personally think the most understatedly awful moment for Sam was at the end of s7 when, like Crowley says, he's finally, utterly alone. I remember that happening and thinking "Daaaaaaaamn. Thats cold, even for Supernatural" That guy needs a hug, ASAP. Everyone does. This show needs 100% more group hugs :P
I legitimately don't even want to discuss Sam's closing scene in the S7 finale. It broke me more than Bobby's ghost passing on, Kevin taken by Crowley, Baby smashed up again, or even Dean abandoned by Cas in Purgatory. That line was the final straw. D:
