We've got a hard cat carrier that is a decent size (I brought it to transport two cats together) that we don't use anymore, as we've upgraded to collapsible lightweight cage/bags for transporting cats and snakes.
I've just emailed Wildlife Victoria (their donation phone lines are full, which is *ace*), as I have a similar, collapsible one. So as soon as they get back to me, I'll let you know too!:) Thank you.:)
I'm sure Lort Smith would take it though as they are taking donations for the bushfire animals and are nice and close to you.
Thanks for this info. I will indeed wait on my big shop till Friday, and my adoration of Leonard Cohen has gone through the roof. It was already tapping on the ceiling anyway.
Wonderful.:) I love this about the internet - something happens, and immediately, a billion different types of help are co-ordinated, publicised, and but into effect.:)
And seriously, how awesome is Leonard Cohen! C. told me that he's pretty much broke following a major rip-off by his manager, so he can ill-afford this, but is doing it anyway. Amazing man.
I know he did this concert tour because he needed the money, but by God am I glad he did and that I had the opportunity to see him perform live. It was one of the best shows I've ever been to.
PS - thanks for the donationy news, keep me in touch :)
Would also like to add that if people want to drop stuff off for the RSPCA at our place in St Kilda Mr Pxx & I are doing a run out there on Saturday. Just in case there's people on our side of town who might find it hard to get to you or to one of the centres. Feel free to ask for my address if required.
Thank you so much for adding this - I was going to add your details but didn't just in case you didn't want it generally known where you live. That's wonderful of you!
Thanks for all the info. My compulsion to gush of Leonard Cohen's awesomeness (I saw him last week and it was a thing of dizzying sublimity) has now gone through the roof, particularly when he's doing this tour largely to recuperate the huge amount of money he lost via being ripped off by his financial adviser.
I know! He's truly amazing; it's so wonderful to hear of an artist whose compassion shines through his work, but also in his actions. I'm looking at you sternly, right now, Peter Garrett.
I'm so envious - I couldn't afford Cohen tix, and I really wish I could have seen him. I bet it was incredible.
I have a collapsable rabbit-hutch type cage but it's stuck at my house. Once I think it's safe to go back there I'm going to take it down to Coldstream. I heard that call on the ABC Radio last night too.
