well... why shouldn't you bother?
nobody is making you! but if you want to do it, then that's the basic answer to the "why should I bother?" question.

why the change of heart? what happened?

well my parents basically told me that there is no way i can sing loud enough for people to hear me because im shy and cant talk loud...but i know i can....i just dont get it how my mom and choir director can compliment me on my voice but still underestimate me just because im shy or act weird.....

i dont know...this doesnt make sense.

hm, no that doesn't make sense at all, and you know why? loudness of your voice has nothing (at least VERY LITTLE) to do with the quality of your singing. I know some people who have BEAUTIFUL voices and they can't talk or sing loud. and btw talking and singing are not necessarily comparable at all. I find it easier to sing loud than talk loud. I have a very tiny little talking voice. ^.^ just ignore them, do what you wanna do :) best way.

Yes, you listen to the faepirate ... what she says is true. :)

but why should i bother?
You should 'bother' if it's what you want to do, makes you happy, or gives you satisfaction. Go for it! The more you do it the better you will get and the more confidence you will have.

All the best and lots of ♥ .
