Day off!
Today was our day off, so we spent about four hours wandering around in downtown El Paso. We went into this catholic church, were given a tour, went into about a thousand cruddy little streetside shops, and went down to the Us-Mexican boarder. A real adventure! In other news, my spanish is not really improving here, too many english speakers, and none of the other missionaries want to speak spanish with me because they have english, so I'm stuck with trying to study whenever I can get time. I almost feel as if I'm retrogressing in my ability to speak spanish... -

Holy Cow, Horizon city, texas is crazy!
well... thats probly not the right word.
Ok, so... the name makes it sound like its from a movie or something, feels like a beach town (population 5323, sandy, etc, but no actual beaches). Some areas are pretty well off, really nice houses, etc; while other sections of town are these huge trailer parks. ( Read more... )
