I am always finding books that I want to read, but I always forget the names of them. This is going to be my record of books that I plan/want to read. I will move books from here to my finished list (under my 50 book challenge tag) as I finish them.

I've read 57 books so far in 2007. :-P

I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Time Traveller's Wife and I always suggest The Giver by Lois Lowry because it's my favorite book. I also love everything by Ernest Hemmingway and Meg Cabot (two completely different genres!) and Jane Austen, C.S. Lewis, Anne Rice (well, I didn't like Vampire LeStat much).

I'm reading a lot of chick lit right now because it's what I'm writing.

Any specific chick lit books? I always love new chick lit books!

I own the Chronicles of Narnia, and I am currently reading The Witching Hour by Anne Rice. I want to read the mayfair witches, then go back and re-read the vampire chronicles to the end. :) I think that I might have read The Giver before, but I am not sure. It would have been when I was a kid though.

Hmm... I just read Queen of Babble and Queen of Babble in the Big City and loved them both. Also Size 12 is Not Fat and Size 14 is Not Fat Either are both good. They have a bit of a mystery twist to them. All those are by Meg Cabot.

The book that got me hooked on chick lit is The Nanny Diaries by Emma McLaughlin. It's coming out as a movie in September.

I also like Jennifer Weiner. :)

The Giver is a YA book, but I still love it. I've read it at least 12 times since I was young.

no, I have not read it, This is my list of books that I want to read someday :) And yes, I LOVE Francesca Lia Block!!! There is a big compilation of those books called Dangerous Angels, I got that from Ryan a few years ago. She has another series that I like better though, called Ecstasia and the second is called Primavera. Longer novels, very good :)

I've read 40% of No Logo. It's shocking and amazing as the same time. It's something I could only read on the train/bus/subway/etc for some reason. Like it was prep for going downtown in a neohippy warning kind of way. I may have to move to a bigger city again just so I can finish it.

I have The Life of Pi and am ashamed to admit that I haven't read it yet although owning it for years. It really looks fantastic. I'll have to break down and discover it.

I had a friend highly recommend the Time Traveler's Wife. From his spoilers, I believe I'd highly enjoy it.

If you add to this list, pick up Vinyl Cafe books by Stuart MacLean and anything done by Terry Pratchett. I thought Magician's Assistant was by him at first glance. Stuart is a storyteller. To hear the podcast, radio show or to see him live is really enjoyable in a way that only the lost art of storytelling can be. To read the book is even better because not only does your imagination play along but the book usually goes into slightly more detail which is like

Terry Pratchet is Discworld, right? I have been wanting to read those, but i am never sure where to start.

I need to update this list, lol. I have read a few on here already (like THe Time Traveler's Wife) and I want to add more.

I found the very first discworld novel to be a little bland. I really started to get into it more after every book, though. The world slowly changes book by book and you feel as if you're a part of that. Given that, I'd recommend The Colour Of Magic and advise you to pick up the next one even if you didn't fancy it.

I loooooooooove Stuart MacLean. Do it! Although I find after hearing him read it I hear him reading it in my head. It's nice.

If you're going to read the God Delusion you might as well read the Dawkins Delusion just to get a well rounded perspective...

I have a whole bookshelf dedicated to the books I have stored here, want to read but can't find the time to. Unfortunately they are already growing so much I have to put them in rows, lol

thanks! The sad part is that this list isn't comprehensive - these are just ones I saw on my inernet travels and wanted to read - I probably have another 10-15 waiting on my overflowing bookshelf, if not more!! :(
