Justis and I made a lot of juices when he had his jaw wired shut. Here's what I can offer:
Carrot makes a great base for veggie juices, because it has a milder flavor than a lot of veggies.
Spinach doesn't affect flavor a whole lot but most of the awesome nutrients that are in spinach transfer through to the juice.
Adding lemon to pretty much any juice seems to improve it. (imho)
Banana thickens juices nicely, for something more like the "smoothies" that you buy at the store, Naked Juice and Odwalla and that sort of thing.
Experiment with whatever your favorite veggies are. If you like the veggie raw, there's a good chance you'll like the juice; just beware that a lot of flavors get stronger in juice, so an apple or carrot or similar base can be helpful.
It does, but the juices taste much better right out of the juicer, and they won't brown for several hours, so it isn't specifically important unless you're going to keep extra in the fridge. But everything seems to taste better with that little tang, anyway, so why not?
