I'm assuming that since they have Upper Midwestern and Midwestern as two separate entries that Midwestern is the lower portion of the Rust Belt (KS, etc.), while Upper Midwestern consists of Chi-town, etc. But that's just me taking a guess... ;-)

I would imagine, though, that Minnesota and North Dakota midwestern would be a different species entirely. That's what I thought of when I thought of "upper" midwestern.

Okay, so that would be MN, ND, etc. as upper midwest, KS and environs as midwestern, and Chicagoland area as Metrowestern? lol
