i can almost get on board with that. but then there's gödel-incompleteness.

Depends on how you define "scientific". I believe science can develop to the point where it'll have an explanation for everything, but current science doesn't.

Depends on definitions of "everything," "scientific," and "explanation." I'm not being facetious, saying that, rather, since getting agreement on these three definitions is pretty unlikely, it's pretty unlikely we can usefully answer the question.
