This is a very entertaining start. I could feel Xander's tension at the myriad reasons Giles would need information about Faith, though I was still surprised at the reveal.

Northern California Women's Facility at Stockton CA

I couldn't find anything on it when I did my research. My bad. What source have you used?

In 'Salvage', a caption comes up saying "Stockton, California" and then "Northern California Women's Facility". We then see a shot of a guard overlooking the area with "C-Block Exercise Yard" painted on the wall behind her.

When I researched this back in 2007 I even found an online copy of the prison regulations, but unfortunately I can't find it now. Note that the prison shut down soon after Faith escaped back in 2003 or so.

Heck, yes. I knew that you'd figure it out instantly. I even pondered upon writing you and beer_good_foamy PMs and asking you to abstain from spoilery comments, but I decided against it.

The idea is to keep the readers wondering until at least ch.3, and then in ch.4 switch to another mystery - a whodunnit that isn't related to canon and functions only within this story.

Yay, you posted it!

I realized that if I continue rewriting, the story will eventually become All.About.Fuffy. And, no matter how I love the pairing, that wasn't my intention when I started writing. :)

Thank you! I'm a bit surprised, really. My f-list is mostly Spuffies, BAers and slashers so I pimped myself on Xander-centric communities. But I realise that in that part of the fandom I'm a new and unknown author, so I could only count on Xander's popularity as a character. It was nice to discover that people still read non-slash Xander-centric stories.
