Faith snuggles up to him, so close he could hear her heart beating, and, for a moment, he feels okay.

"You will tell Buffy yourself," Giles says.

Honesty is the best policy, honestly.

I love that Faith is so Faithy, prickly and proud, even as she begins to bend - a little.

I am nervous about this imminent birth scene, as they are so often depicted the same way (not very naturally, in my experience). Let me know if you'd be interested in a little "childbirth beta-ing".

Thank you, honey! I appreciate your desire to help. I'll write you a PM.

Honesty is the best policy, honestly.

Yet the majority on conflicts and heartbreaks in Jossverse is based on people's fear of telling the truth. :)

Usually, I don't enjoy action scenes very much (too much visual, or not enough), but yours was absolutely perfect! Plus another mystery to wonder about: magic hurting Faith?

I've read a few comments and seen that you're wondering about how you wrote Buffy. To me, you're writing everybody very honestly and it's one of the things I do love in your story. I'm not really a 'shipper', and I don't really care about canon, or at least its usual definition. I have my own kind of canon, which is "Stay true to the characters and everything's fine". And in my opinion, you're staying totally true to the characters.

I could rant a lot about why I don't read many Spuffy stories for example, because most of what I've read so far, Buffy is either a bitch or the perfect girl/hero. She's none of that in my opinion: she was a regular teenager who had to deal with an exceptional destiny, and she makes her way through it, with flaws, mistakes, bad and good actions/reactions. And you portray it very well :)

Thank you, honey! *blushes*

It's so useful to hear the opinion of the unbiaised fan. The majority of people who argue about Buffy on this thread are longtime fans who either witnessed fandom wars or even participated in them. Spuffy vs Bangel, Spike fans vs Spike haters, Xander fans vs Xander haters etc. Our opinions are often colored by our fandom experiences.

I adore Buffy and I write her the way I see her. My only way to soften her character is to write a funny fic and rely on genre conventions. But I don't have such refuge in this fic. So I can only hope that I write characters fairly. *hugs Buffy and her friends*

Excellent action sequence, and I really enjoyed Giles' reaction to Faith's bombshell. It wouldn't have been so bad if he hadn't pretty much called her a fuck up that Xander was helping out of the kindness of his heart. I bet Giles was absolutely mortified at his rush to judgment. Xander totally deserves to be left on his own with the chairman.

Hee! There is an expression in Russian, that can be roughly translated as "wanted to make it better, but it turned out as usual" - this is the case... :)

Xander totally deserves to be left on his own with the chairman.

Oh, he will pay for his sins, I promise - but, apparently, not the way you think... *evil cackle*
