This is my very belated post of summer fanfiction recommendations. I would do it earlier, but all the heated debates about issue #36 distracted me for a while... So, without much preamble:
You're welcome, honey! Yes, our fandom is incredibly creative - Joss puts the characters in such misery that we can't keep from defending them and making them a bit happier in fanfic. :)
Oooooooo! Big thank you!! And about all the characters suffering, did any, and I do mean ANY, couple get a happy ending in the entire TV series? Well, I suppose that Willow's invisible parents were happily married, maybe?
Nope! Willow seemed well-suited to Oz and Tara, but not really Kennedy, who seemed a selfish, egocentric at heart. It would probably never have worked out in the long run, sez me. And ya know, back to the Rosenbergs, as a parent myself, the invisible and apparently blasé parents of many characters bothered me. O.K. Willing suspension of disbelief and all that, but Geeze Louise! And if we get into the sex lives of fictional characters, what about all those Disney characters? Donald Duck had nephews, Grandma Duck, and a girlfriend, but no parents, no wife, nor children. Ditto Mickey Mouse minus the grandmother. What was with that anyway? Were Huey, Dewey, and Louie orphans to prevent us from positing the married sex of cartoon married couples? Was it the early TV twin-beds-required rule even for real married couples like Ozzie and Harriet? But I digress. I know; I know. I'm an aberrant personality type. But I agree with like Oscar Wilde who said, "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."

My guess is that Joss doesn't care about "the long run"; he's interested in conflicts, drama, pain. He just hadn't time to bring it on Willow and Kennedy.
I'm happy to have your fic in my list, hon. And every time I add "complete" to description, my heart rejoices. I know how hard it is to to write a plotty story with interesting, memorable finale. And you totally nailed it!

Willow/Kennedy maybe. But only becaise Joss hadn't time to torture them properly. But he already started doing it in comics :)
