Finrod has always open spaces, even more since his death, and can often be found walking in the woods. He's out there now, wearing a weapon because it's not safe not to in the woods. He sees Curufin out there and pauses, but he's not hidden and wasn't making a particular effort to make his steps silent, so if Curufin turns, he'll easily find him.
Curufin pauses as well, hearing steps, and his head swivels around in a neat semicircle before finally settling on Finrod. Whom he hasn't seen since their last meeting. Which involved drawn swords and a very sincere attempt at probable murder, this time, involving his own hands.
Probably a misjudgment, he has concluded, but that doesn't mean he doesn't settle back, raising his eyebrows at Finrod and moving no closer.
"I'd think you'd be more careful wandering around in here, cousin, all things considered."
Finrod moves no farther away, though he knows that's probably a mistake. He didn't come here looking for a fight. "I go armed," he says mildly. "It is sufficent, to deal with any animals that I might come across."
Curufin's mouth curves into a very slight smile that is patently false, given the continued coolness of his eyes. Of course, that particular trait never changes. Or almost never.
He appraises Finrod casually. "Famous last words. Suit yourself, I suppose. You of all people ought to know that excessive bravery is equivalent to foolishness."
