I am a patient man
I've earned that right-
through youths violent anger
I learned that aggressive action
Is sometimes a greater curse
than a boon.

But I am a patient man.

The seeds I've planted
will bear their fruit
and I will sit here
beneath her boughs
and water
and wait
and weed
and wait
until the day when her branches are heavy
and she bends to me
her fruit
