Yesterday evening I played in my first soccer game EVER. The kids I tutor lent me some shin guards and soccer socks so I would look official and possibly persuade people that I knew what I was doing. It is so hard to go back to being a student. I'd rather assign homework instead of doing it myself. Only two more weeks of classes and then I can start reading the high school cannon to prepare myself for all of the courses I'll be teaching in the fall. I am in need of some summer vacation. Back to the school on Monday - those freshman are all mine this time and I'm a bit scared but fear is a good thing right? I just read an advice column that had discussed recognizing and treating the symptoms of shock and this made me laugh:

Reassure victim. (Ask yourself if you are the shit and say yes.)

Seems as though more people watch the local news than I expected - especially because I happened to be interviewed about gas prices as I filled up my car this morning and they chose to put my clip on TV about 3 times today. I have a few options: quit my job, quit school, quit my social life. I need my job to maintain the roof over my head and to put food in my mouth. I am almost half way done with school which will entitle me to a better job somewhere down the line. I don't have much of a social life to begin with.
