Life is frequently boring. There are many parts which are certainly not thrilling. Brushing your teeth, driving to work, clipping toenails, etc... What we see on TV is the epic side of life - it's the interesting bits with everything in-between removed. It's what we try to capture when we role-play - only the epic portions of life. I wish you much luck!
As you said, people will hate you, but on the other hand, I think it's more resentment than hatred. That whole projecting their responsibilities onto someone else (it's not -your- fault you'd have to decide to move children around).

I also hope that you would not get burnt out, no matter what you do. *huggles*

Well, yeah some people will resent but many people WILL hate. There are no two ways about it. Either way it doesn't matter. I'm concerned mostly about the negativity. Social workers get a lot of negativity in many of their roles, and so it's very important for us to get positivity, gratuity, etc... as part of our jobs too. It seems like this job is basically devoid of that because the clients we help are just children - people who really don't have the capacity for that. And even when they occasionally do, many of these children want to stay with their families, even if they totally hate them too. It's weird and complicated.

Still deciding.
