So two nights ago, I was relaxing in the bathtub, reading a book, drinking a beer (it's good for milk production!), and my husband came upstairs with the baby. The normal routine is this: I hang out in the tub for half an hour or so, then he brings her upstairs, undresses her, and gives her to me to bathe, and then we all go to bed.

Haha. That's pretty funny. If it makes you feel better, the first time I babysat (in my tweens), I was supposed to give the kid a bath and I didn't know that you take the diaper OFF before submersing the kid. Soggy much? :)

Haha!!

So tell me... are you going the disposable route, or the cloth diaper route? Any thoughts on the subject?

We're still in disposables. I had really intended to use disposables only for a couple of weeks, to get through the newborn period, and then go to cloth but we haven't exactly made the switch yet. I think it depends on the personality of your baby more than anything. I can't imagine having must-do laundry like cloth diapers right now, because she is SO time consuming. If you had a mellower baby and could actually DO laundry on a reliable basis, it would be totally, totally different. We're investigating diaper services at this point. Some friends of ours use a diaper service and LOVE it.

It's what the baby can tolerate as well. I tried the diaper service route and the detergents they used kept making my baby break out. But it must be fine for most kids or they'd go out of business.

True. The rash we got after using just one trial pack of huggies...ack. Babies' skin is sometimes so tender.
