I know. I thought of you yesterday while watching the news - it would be so awful for all the effort and time and love and energy to be wasted - here's hoping it fizzles before landfall. It's making me nuts that there are still some holdouts who don't want to evacuate. Has the Army Corps of Engineers ever gotten around to fortifying the levies? Seems that's been a bureaucratic mess. My heart goes out to all the residents and I hope the damage is minimal and loss of lives is nil.

In other news - your monkey is just too cute! I love the little VT outfit!

The pumps are in better shape. Some of the levees are in better shape. A friend of mine works for the Corps, and they've done a lot of work but there's still a lot of work yet to go.
