With you 100% on this one.

OK - I'm not a parent, but my immediate reaction this morning when I heard it (well before reading your posting) is that the sort of parents who do give this sort of help are generally the decent ones, and to institutionalise this sort of help in such a way was absurd.

Yeah, to be honest I only used the 'I'm a parent and..." line is because for years whenever I've commented on things like this I've been patronisingly told that 'You'll understand when you have your own kids'. Well I have now and I feel no different. Amy has said this several times, we thought the government has become increasingly obsessed with control for years now but all the stuff we've experienced since we had Mal has been really OTT. Having a kid seems to be regarded by these goons as a license to meddle in your life and question EVERYTHING about you. Lord alone knows how hard we'll have to work to stop school brain-washing him...

I'm so glad I'm not growing up now.

That's great but sadly I've not been able to get hold of a plush Cthulhu so Marlowe is unprepared to recognise His Mighty Squishiness when He emerges. I am a negelctful father.

Neglectful indeed.
On a slightly serious note, if you can no longer get hold of them, I would be ok donating one of my plush Cthulus to the cause...green, Santa Cthulu or Superhero Cthulu?
