LOL so that meant there were like 12 people on the interent at that time? It's funny to see stuff like this and now realize how much it is intertwined in our daily lives.

PS I just realized that it said we "exchanged letters with mom".

Ok let's be a little bit more realistic. Back then older people thought computers were evil and part of a robot race that's main goal was to take over the world. There was no way in hell "mom" could have even figured out how to turn the damn machine on!

Ah yes, the age-old advertising ploy of incorporating "mom" into the text. A sure-fire way of endearing the public to their product. I have no doubt the vast majority of early 80s mothers were still baffled by the mechanics of a VCR, let alone how to send email.
