Saturday morning I had the difficult job of taking my Mothers beloved cat to a pet adoption agencey. She simply is too weak and feeble to take care of him anymore. It broke her heart and it balled me up to have to do it. She found out that due to her condition she would not be a good canidate for open heart surgery. We were blindsided by an October snowstorm. There are power lines and trees down everywhere. I've been without electricity since Saturday afternoon. I probably won't have my power restored until Thursday at the earliest. My area was hit really hard. I'm sitting in front of the woodstove in almost total darkness. I'm just thankful I have that. Last contract it was only 3 departments getting the axe. Security, service and the grounds crew. 148 union jobs in all.m No one seemed to give a shit about us. Long story short, the union absorbed us and it worked out for the best, we all have jobs. Now there are about 3,000 union jobs on the chopping block. Literally... I pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve in my neck, not quite sure which. I might have to wear one of those big fucked up horse collars for a while. I'm not looking forward to it.

If I live to be 100 I don't think I'll see wind and rain like I'm seeing right now. I don't mind telling you that I'm more than a little nervous.

I just scored a mint copy of "Heavy Cream" on vinyl. The lava lamps are in full swing and SWLABR is now playing. "But the rainbow has a beard". Ahh vinyl bliss!

We're coming up on Labor day weekend here in the U.S. I took a half day of vacation today. I won't have to go back to work until Tuesday morning. Let me tell you, I need it. I was informed that when I return to work I'll no longer have a trainer by my side. They're cutting me loose to do the job on my own. This should be interesting.....
