Murphy had an extremely mild seizure at about 10PM - it lasted about 15 seconds, then he calmed down. We administered 2 oz. Valerian infusion rectally and left him covered with a damp towel. He slept peacefully until 1:30AM ( Read more... )

Both seizures were mild. Some twitching, light paddling, profuse drooling. He snapped out of both fairly quickly, so we are holding off on administering more valium.

Murphy was released from TAH at 5:30PM. Dr. Smith sent us home with meds and instructions: keep him in a cool, dim, quiet spot, continue his twice daily phenobarb regimen and add 13.5ml KBr twice daily. Valium (10ml) as needed at the onset of seizure activity. We will run out of valium tonight, most likely, and won't be able to obtain anymore ( Read more... )

Observations: All three seizures were violent. Hard arching, paddling, gagging, profuse drooling. Murphy lost control of his bladder twice. It appears that he never regained his sight last night, probably because he had additional seizures in the night.
