A lot of people didn't like Paul Keating, I didn't at the time, however the things he's been saying around this election have resonated strongly within me. I've grown up since 1996. :)

I've been a long standing fan of PK's, both as a man of vision and passion for a cause (lets forget his hubris and taste for Zegna suits for a second).
In reading that article, its a distillate of what was lost in the last 10 years... vision , direction, integrity and compassion.

All i can think is that the toad is gone, and Australia might be the better for it.

I've always liked Keating. I know not many did back then, but I have seen a growing respect for the man - or perhaps a growing amount of people that are willing to speak up about their fondness.

I know that during the dark days of Crean/Beazley/Latham/Beazley, particually the days of Crean, my house mate was often heard to cry out at the news, "come back Keating! All is forgiven!!!"

Thanks for the heads up about this article. I missed it when I was scouring SMH for post-election headlines this morning.

This article is gold!

I <3 Keating
