1966 is correct. Good case.

But do you think she disagrees with Miranda? Couric asked her to discuss another decision besides Roe v. Wade that she *disagrees* with.

(Sorry, this meme is bugging me - I have as many problems with Palin as the next person. However, she does enough on her own to make herself look uniformed, the least we can do is stick to what she actually says -- or doesn't say.)

Lets see, Dred Scott vs. safford, garanteeing that slaves are property with no rights,
plessy vs. ferguson, states that segragation is perfectly ok.
These were taught in jr. high civics. There are dozens of court cases that historically are wrong that are part of the US culture, by what you just said, by not stating them she is in fact agreeing with them. Honestly, I would rather believe she just couldn't think of any on the spur of the moment.
.
ALSO, in this context, I don't give a rats butt about Palin's knowledge or lack there off, I am curious about what MY friends know. I suspect you have a Supreme Court case that sticks out in your head.

I think you’re right that she couldn’t come up with something on the spur of the moment, and not that she agrees with Dred Scott. (On a side note, in the context of the interview, I’m not sure that Dred Scott would have been an appropriate answer, as Couric was asking about Palin’s policies, and not testing her knowledge of case law, and I doubt anyone questions her policy on slavery.)

As for not caring about Palin’s knowledge or lack thereof and just wanting to discuss Supreme Court decisions, I think it’s great, and a lot more interesting than many meme’s that I’ve seen! However, I still take issue with the first line of the meme, which has been used since I first saw it show up on my friends list yesterday. It is not a completely true statement, and it really bugs me.

If you’re interested, you can see my comment on verymelm’s latest entry - it sums up my feelings on the subject.

Anyhow, good to hear from you. Hope you're having a good day.
