wilson, i think it defeats the purpose of making latkes if you're not jewish and it's not hanukkah.

Wrong, because, I made them with flour, not matzah meal....so they're not kosher and consequently not made for hanukkah. I must say I am a pro latke-chef. Your mom's recipie worked pretty well except she didn't tell me how fine of a grater to use, but I figured it out eventually.

you don't need to eat kosher food on hanukkah. not that kind of kosher anyway. you use matzah meal on passover to be kosher. :) so yeah, kyou defeated the purpose.
