Here's my suggestion: talk to some people in the music school and see if they've ever run into this problem before. Surely, in a town with such a huge music school, there must be some kind of precedent protecting a musician's right to practice. :P

My guess - her windows were open/she was outside/her TV wasn't on. I mean, you've played the drums for quite a while now. It's obviously just someone whos decided that those "gosh-darn college kids" are up to not good.

Plus, any time one of her dogs barks (and it's bound to happen sometime. The dog next door to me wakes me up everymorning) you have something to use against her.

Yeah, those fuckers start barking whenever I go out to my car/motorcycle, it's like goddamn I LIVE HERE STFU.

What I find interesting is the fact that she said the music was soo loud her house was shaking, and yet she took the time to get both her dogs on leashes (is that how you spell it?) and THEN walk over to our house. Seems to me she was actually walking her dogs, heard the music, and then felt like being a dumb bitch.
