So, what a rad weekend that turned out to be.
Friday: Regular movie night at Sierra's was off because she was out of town, so I treated myself to another one of the "100 Favorite Dishes" meals I've been doing (which I'm sure you've seen on Facebook). 1) -always- wanted to make that portal cake.. think i have just the occasion coming up though (the BF's birthday!)
2) i have never heard of tacos that serious; and wish i had experienced that in my meat-eatin days.. confit beef heart?! sheeit. tell me that was as amazing as it sounds, and also, please describe this confit beef heart, as ineffable as that may be.
3) i read that you cooked your slaw?? mine has always entailed a mere shredding and toss with the mayonnaise. do you cook the slaw then toss it?
4) hope to read more facts about the new girl :)
5) what the fuck is wrong with reggae?! ;)

2. The beef heart one wasn't my favorite. The pickled peppers/turnips on it kind of masked the meat, which wasn't ideal. My favorite was probably just the pork belly one, with some carrots, daikon, onions, and cilantro. Super nice.
3. "Cooked" = "prepared." Sorry for the confusion. "Dumped ingredients into bowl/stirred in sugar-oil mixture" is more accurate. Again, I'm no pro. Haha.
4. Arcadia to Costa Mesa is a fairly prohibitive distance. I should follow up but that plus my own inherent fears take the wind outta my sails.
5. I dunno. Reggae's just....bleh. Guitar upbeats over soundalike bass for 10 minutes. There's some I like, but I would, almost literally, listen to any other type of music before I picked reggae.

Also seeking a co-op partner! Please say xbox 360?... Though I have this wedding/honeymoon thing the next couple weeks, after that I would SO shoot holes in walls any time.

They pour drinks like back in Chicago, get some pretty big name bands coming through (Green Day played a secret show not long ago) and a bunch of awesome obscure shit too. Mr Miyagis karaoke night is cool/ridiculous to people watch. Instead of a karaoke machine, they have a live band playing. Secret Affair is a super awesome soul night, that used to be at the Pike. Also, Phil Shane.
