Hello from Rhinebeck, NY.

Last night, I finished tracking drums for an album that will hopefully blow a few minds when it comes out in the spring.

Dan the engineer says I bare a resemblence to Vincent D'inofrio. When the takes suck I am Private Pile trying to make it over those barriers in Full Metal Jacket.

My advisor just handed me my senior project back telling me it was the best in the whole Journalism class. This is amusing considering I thought it was complete shit. I thought I would have to spend all day convincing she and my other advisor to sign it, thinking it was worthy of a C at best. My school career now feels done, and the festivities ( Read more... )

Mark this one down in history folks- my first record contract. To celebrate, I dusted off and started reading these tomes about the ins and outs of the music industry my dad gave me when I was 13.

There's one, and only one, part of that equation I don't like.

Got the new Dillinger Escape Plan record. My favorite songs are the ones that sound like they could be on the radio (and yes, there are a few). It came with a DVD that I can't play unless I go to someone with a DVD player's house. Also picked up Black Sabbath Vol. 4, Nas Illmatic, and Onyx Bacdafucup on cassette at Coconuts.

I was listening to Mogwai in the cab tonight and this 50 yr. old guy wanted me to TURN IT UP.

I practically live on a commune where we're each treated according to our needs by an ever-present body of maintenence men. I woke up at 9:30 to drilling and pounding.
