Oh nice, what was your first workout? Enjoy it?

Warm up was a short run, then three sets of three overhead squats and five kipping pull ups

Workout was seven sets of seven burpees + knees to elbows on the pull-up bars, and seven thrusters. Not sure if there was a name for it - I can ask.

It was definitely more fun than a solo workout, but my legs were too thrashed from all the cycling to give it a worthwhile effort. My quads started to seize up a few sets into the main workout, and I wasn't using anywhere near the weight I was supposed to be using.

You shouldn't be even close to using the perscribed weight when you're starting out. No one does, not even the guys who think they're all super fit (in fact those are the ones who go and give themselves Rhabdo trying to do everything as perscribed their frist week out)

How were the knees to elbows? I still find those brutal :)

I was worn out from all the biking, and hadn't worked out with weights in about 5 years - I expected to be weak!

It took about 24 hours for the soreness to really set in from the knees to elbows - trying to crouch behind my windscreen on the commute hurt!

The guy was on a mountain bike with slicks, wearing a huge backback. In a way, it was like a spelling contest with a dyslexic - even if you win, you don't really win...

oh man I wish I was that comfortable on my bike, I get so freaked out of being clipped in still that I've only made it to GGP a couple of times.
Good work on all those rides!

I got used to it by riding my mountain bike first - the transition was pretty seamless. The pedals on my mountain bike are set so loose, my shoes will pop out if I sneeze.

Can you adjust the tension on the clips of your pedals?
