Looking back at pictures from earlier this year, I'm remembering how much fun I had riding in Oregon.

A good portion of my immediate family is hoping to move to Oregon someday. I'm wondering if that wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Oregon is full of white supremacists of the KKK kind on one side of the state, and white supremacists of the Stuff White People Like kind on the other side.

It is breathtakingly gorgeous though.

The natives I've met up there were really cool. Maybe they're the exception?

Realistically, it'll probably be years before I can get out of the state - or the Bay Area for that matter. I'll have a degree but the economy is tanking - who knows...

I actually didn't make it to Portland this time - the trip was to Ashland, in the middle of the mountains.

It's hard for me to pass on amazing food - guess I'll have to visit both Portland and Ashland next time out :)

And cherry singletrack - it's like a roller coaster through some of the most scenic terrain around :)
