"You must help us, Command-ah" - GalaxyquestmaxwellgrantJune 20 2008, 23:09:23 UTC
Okay, we saw the Leader set-up, but you must help us - where was Doc Samson?
(Was there something wrong with me that I never noticed Abobination's ears but was staring at where his genitalia might be, wondering how this film was going past standards and practice's?)
Or are you saying that guy could become either one? We thought he could be the Leader - but doesn't the Leader look more like Sinestro (different universe I know). And we get his name early on so it's not Samson. (spoiler ahead for those who've not seen film) They wouldn't waste not using Tim Blake Nelson as Tim Blake Nelson. Also why isn't he playing the Scarecrow in a remake of the Wizard of Oz?
Just wondering, T.M. Maple, famous Marvel no-prize letter writer and winner

The psych who Betty was dating is a psychologist who I assume will grow up to be Doc Samson. They never actually mention his name.
Samuel Stearns grows up to be the leader, although in the comic book he was just some factory type schmo, if I recall correctly. There was a certain irony in the fact that Bruce Banner, brain, becomes muscly cretin, whereas the guy who becomes the leader, a muscly cretin, becomes a brain.

That is astonishing - I bow to your superior comic book knowledge (and I get a pile of oldies a month or so - cannot get into much new, not since Sandman). I totally forgot about that schlub Betty was dating - I meant to look him up - he's been a regular on at least one sitcom. And it would make since for him to go from being dumped by Betty for Bruce - but then he sees the realty of the situation with Col. Ross - and works together with him as Doc Samson did. Will he wear a ponytail and make his hair white (or was it green?)? Will Samuel Jackson and Robert Downey Jr. ever get Captain America or THE AVENGERS movie made now that Jon Favreau has gone south - tune in tomorrow, true believer!
(and thanks! things are so slow on lj lately I am going to examine what the most popular blog is and go there, maybe...I say that ever summer...)
