Friday, when Mona showed up at my apartment, it was just like she had never left.  I think that's one of the signs of a true friend.  No matter the time apart, everything falls right back into place easily when reunited.  She met Cookie for the first time.  Prior to this visit; she had only seen pictures.  Amazingly, Cookie didn't even bark at her ( Read more... )

As I write, Mona is on an airplane heading to Houtson.  I've been excited about this trip for some time.  She will be staying with her family over the next two weeks; but I am sure I will be seeing a lot of her, beginning tonight with just the two of us over dinner.  I'm positively Giddy!   :-)

I know, It's been forever since I have posted here.  I'm not completely sure of the reason.  I think my main problem is that I stare at a computer all day at work.  The last thing I am interested in is coming home and jumping right back in front of a computer once again.  Another issue with checking emails and posting in LJ is that Cookie can't ( Read more... )

Labor Day I went to the SPCA and fell in love with a 3 month old puppy (Beagle mix of some sort).  I spent 45 minutes with her in a visiting room and then quickly claimed her as mine and adopted her on the spot!  She had her surgery to be spayed yesterday; so she will be ready for me to pick her up tomorrow at 10am.  I can't wait!  I have been a ( Read more... )

It turns out that the resort I am staying at (The Breakers at Palm Beach) is nothing short of fantastic.  I will upload some pictures of the place upon my return.  I will be staying at this resort through the symposium, which ends on Wednesday.  Afterwards I am heading to another resort called the Ocean Club Beach Resort , in West Palm Beach.  ( Read more... )

I am off to Palm Beach, Florida for the PICIS Exchange User Group Symposium, which is put on by the vendor of the software I am implementing in the Emergency Room at the hospital I work for.  The symposium lasts 3 1/2 days; but I'm staying an extra 4 days to take as a mini vacation, since I've never been there before.  Never mind that the last 4 ( Read more... )

My friend (and ex from years ago) is in New Orleans this weekend.  Therefore, uncle mark is being the fun uncle to little Enrique.  I still remember going with Rocky to the SPCA, where we fell in love with her on the spot.  She's such a sweet dog.  Of course, the poor little thing probably has an identity crisis.  Rocky decided to name her Enrique ( Read more... )
