It's been quite awhile since I posted some painting... I've been painting quite a bit and I took classes both this past Fall and this Spring. Nothing during the Winter quarter as I had other things I needed to do and that would have cut into my time. Sadly, my Norwescon is almost over. I've enjoyed it immensely. I attend many non-costume panels and came away from most of them very inspired. I had a good time on the panels I was a panelist for. I enjoyed just doing something very different from the same old modern life/SCA life kind of routine that we are in, these days.

The big news, this morning, is that The Boy got on the hotel shuttle to the airport, caught the light rail to downtown Seattle, and is now walking to the convention center where he will meet up with Gwen and her daughter and they will all attend SakuraCon today. I hit the ground running, this morning, which is why there was no morning update - my first panel was at 10AM and I slept in until 8AM so there wasn't a lot of time to do anything other than get ready.

The morning was lazy - The Man was battling a headache so The Boy and I went to the Faux-bucks in the hotel lobby and got coffee. After some coffee and a couple of Tylenol, The Man was feeling better so we went and took a look at the registration lines. Ha! We all slept in, this morning. Because we could! Nothing much gets going today until after Noon. The registration desks open at Noon for both The Man and The Boy and my pro registration desk opens at the same time but, having learned my lesson from previous years and will not be rushing up there right at Noon to get my badge and packet. We're here! This was the smoothest pack-up, drive over, and pack-in that I think we've ever experienced. The only bummer was dropping the computer on the pavement and scratching the monitor in the process. But, as you can see, it's fine and we're up and running on the internet in our room.

Art Hour, this afternoon, was about more details and some highlight work on the blue wrap. I stopped saying that I was almost done with this because it seemed like it was fighting me about that and now, suddenly, I'm almost finished. I'm getting very close to being satisfied with the faces and other areas of the two figures... Art Hour, this evening, was all about the extremely subtle but easily screw-up-able addition of color and eyebrows to the faces. The Madonna's face is almost there... the baby's needs some more work. Art Hour, this morning, was all about some last fine tuning to the sky and some thoughts on where I am going next, in trying to finish the underpainting. Obviously, I wasn't able to get the underpainting finished by the 15th (although it's super close) but I think I can get it finished by Xmas.
