Things That Have Happened in the Last Month

1. I spent two weeks in Indy for training, staying at a Holiday Inn Express (didn't make me feel smart) where I didn't always have internet access, which is what started the lack of posting. It wasn't particularly exciting, but I did eat at the Cheesecake Factory one night and ran 4 miles in 27.5 minutes on another night (which did make me feel ( Read more... )

*And yes, I copy-pasted those lyrics from a google search. I don't quite have the lyrics for their commercials memorized. This was my favorite, though.

FYI, you have to sign up for something that costs money if you keep it at freecreditreport.com. If you really want to check it out, you can get a free report once a year through annualcreditreport.com. Just a friendly hint.

Thanks for all the comments, with the exception of number three.

I think with the whole Olympics thing, it's mainly because we're sort of accepting China in a way that, for most people just isn't right. I don't like the idea of the Olympics in china. It brings more money, tourism and just acceptance to a country that's sort of blatantly against human rights. I mean, they refuse to talk to the Dalai Lama and he's not even for an independent Tibet. I don't know if I would go as far as blowing out the torch or whatnot, but I think that national leaders who boycott the Olympics this year (like Sarkozy) are doing the right thing. I know the Olympics are supposed to represent a coming together of the nations or whatnot, and that makes sense under two warring countries, but boycotting and protesting the Olympics in China isn't about a war between us and China, it's about not letting China get away with inhumanity...

So two warring countries should put aside their differences and play games for a few weeks, but China is special because it does "inhumane" things? Isn't war inhumane? So why are China's transgressions worse than two countries shooting and bombing thousands/millions of those on the other side ( ... )

2 warring countries actually are different than what might be a civil war taking place in one. They're all definitions and technicalities, but rules of war, at least in the past, have existed in a way that civil wars (or what might be civil wars) can't. I also haven't been around for the olympics during wars (wwI, II and the cold war) so as not to know how it all worked out, but I'm perfectly ok with protesters.

10. Get a Washington Mutual credit card. When you make a free online account with it (pay online, see account balance online, etc.), they give you your credit score for free each month.

While I'm probably not going to go through with that due to the non-need for another credit card at the moment, I'm glad that the collective internet once again supplied an answer for every question. Thanks.
