the idea is simple

Fuck me, I love Memepool.

Especially when it introduces me to things like this:
"The idea is simple: to collect photos of people posing dead in various places from around the world."

Ok, who's got a camera? Let's get this freakshow on the road!

And, seriously, who wants to contribute to a zine of children's book covers?

Just send in your ( Read more... )

and pointing in slightly different directions...

Ben now lives a few minutes away from a taxidermy supply shop; I can send him on supply runs!

keeripes, I have never seen this before. "photos of people posing dead in various places from around the world." I like the guy hanging out of the dryer. ha and the kids!
Perfect, I am in the same mind set, I am almost finished with Stiff.

For some reason this reminds me of (you are going to think this is weird) of the days as a bored teenager when my friend who could make simple robots and various mechanical moving things, take old beat up animal skins and create undulating road kill.

Yes, Animals Talk To Me will be grand! Beth's Happy Day could be a good one too.

Ha! Awesome - you were commendably ambitious with your roadkill. I just blew them up. I think... I have seen such creations? Survival Research Labs, maybe???

I am also real fond of the guy w/his head in the dryer, but the room full of people cracks me up. Just because they *all* agreed to do that!

How does this work? Does anything go with what medium I use?

I suspect the time table is going to be pretty lax. A couple months, maybe?

Dibs on "Tommy's Tooth". I just have to put together my own cover for it? Or retell the story my own way? Or what?

It's yours. Just do the cover! Color or b&w, preferably a line drawing or painting but if it photocopies well, let's go. Still figuring out the sizing depending on how many people get involved.

Excellent, Mrrr! Let me know the size or proportions when you know... I can either send you the original for you to deal with it, or I can send you as many color prints as you'd need if that would make things easier...

Mrrr, may I post a link to the project in my journal? Might get one or two additional participants. Or do you want to keep it local?

I am thinking Backyard Circus, what size are you thinking about?

The books that inspired the project are 6 1/2" by 4 3/4," but if enough people get on board, maybe we should go larger (half-size)? You've done similar little projects - what do you think?

Mrrr, the passage of time (yes, that is what I will blame) has left me confused and my notes are worthless. What was the final decision on size? 4.75x6.5" or 5.5x8.5"?

Half-size: 5.5 x 8.5, but keep in mind I'll need to leave a little open border for the spine. If youwant to draw all the way to the edge but don't mind a little shrinkage if necessary, that's cool.
