Well, I was in Ennis's place in college I fought the battle hard and furious did not want to be gay no if and or buts but whenever I could I would find a way to have sex with men, then I would be brutal and mean and throw them out afterwards. Even, when I met my first lover of 13 years he put up with me trying to play both sides of the fence of course he played with everyone he could as well, it was utter hell and I don't want to live that part of my life again. I feel for both of them Jack wanting to settle into life but also for Ennis for wanting to be "Normal" or what the world expects from him. It is horrible what society does to us to mess us up and I'm not the first or the last to go through this and well, you brought up a lot of emotions but thank you for showing this torment and struggle it educates and promotes understanding. Joe, I'm so glad I read this because it helps me to have some compassion for Ennis. I always love to read your comments.

I usually just want to throttle GLATW Ennis when he pulls this shit, but I read Joe's comment and I so I'll cut him some slack.

I must say, Josh is such a true friend for Jack. Pity Ennis doesn't have a friend he could go to for advice about his relationship with Jack. Maybe when he's older he'll have a friend like Josh?

I'm at a point in this story where I only want to get it over with- oh no no no not the story but the hurt and despair
this relationship should and could be the best thing in their life and yet now it's the greatest nighmare for both of them- that's just so sad.
something to think about - 'I still think maybe that was the night he started getting into other shit' ????? what happened?
and this - 'He swears up and down that he’s changed now.'- I just looove to get these little glances in the future( in fact the present?)
thanks

Thanks so much for the new chapter!
I feel bad for both guys, in this moment a happy ending for them seems hard. Sad but so realistic.
I'm glad that Josh is still a good friend for Jack. I really like Josh.
Can't wait to read more.
A big hug

I am glad that in this moment of the story Jack has a very good friend that can understand him. But what about Ennis, he is so lost, he thinks that only with his desire to not being gay he will do it. He will be alone or not but he will never forget Jack. Thank you so much for sharing. Martha
