Wow! Thank you for sharing your trip with us. I feel like I can see a bit of South Africa now. I can't believe you stayed at a place called Shala naughty. hehehehe

Nothing like a chargine elephant to get the ol' blood pumping! I think my hair would have turned white.. Those animals are so big! But what an adventure -- I would think that's what people dream of by traveling to Africa, a bit of adventure in the rugged land!

I'm so glad you got photos!!!! I can't wait to see them. We still have our Whistler photos to send up to you. We haven't forgot, I've just been lazy!

The crime there sounds like Albuquerque.. ;)

Glad you made it all back safe & sound, and good news that Ian only had to take a little medication for the flight!

*big hugs* welcome home!

Atlanta Georgia isn't much different than SA or probably Albuquerque, it was rather intimidating.

Spending a little too much time on the island?

Atlanta, SA or Albuquerque different than Port Hardy or Tofino?

You have to break them down into neighborhoods, that way you can look at them the same as you would a roudy Saturday night at the local tavern in the bush.

There is difinitely a difference between SA and Atalnta. You do not go into a black restaurant in SA, where as we went into a waffle house in Atlanta that was predominately black, but it was recommended by the shuttle bus driver at our hotel. And we felt safe there.

My mom taught me an important lesson about where to sit in the local bars (tavern) when I was growing up. Sit with your back to the wall at least that way you have a chance to duck the beer bottle or dive out of the way during a fight. And if it was a local place for the native population you wouldn't end up with an arrow in your back!
